China reset looming. Foreign Minister Penny Wong will head to Beijing today for the first visit by a top Australia diplomat since 2018, the latest sign of warming relations between Canberra and Beijing. News of the visit to Australia’s largest trading partner spurred a climb in the AUD against the USD, rising 0.5% by the end of Monday.
